CHABIJAN — Jharkhand

Catholic Health Association operating in the States of Bihar, Jharkhand and Andaman Nicobar Islands (CHABIJAN) is one of the eleven Regional Units of Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI), the largest Non-Governmental Health Organization of the World.

CHABIJAN in collaboration with SELCO Foundation started health care delivery through Telemedicine in twenty one clinics, in the remote villages of Jharkhand, connecting five hospitals. Telemedicine has become an efficient solution to address the shortage of medical personnel in rural India, but lack of a reliable energy source still remains a hurdle in accessing this service. SELCO has powered these twenty one clinics with solar energy to increase efficiency and allow for 24/7 access.

SELCO Foundation are pioneers in delivering sustainable energy to low-income group communities in India. Their interventions focus on building assets that not only champions renewable energy but creates solutions that increase incomes, improves quality of life, and alleviates poverty.

HOPESTORYMEDIA was commissioned to document seven different health interventions led by SELCO in partnership with local or national organisations across India.
